Supporting our local community
At Portola Land Company, our mission is to be positive force within our community.
Today, we create employment for more than 300 local workers and are proud that over 25% of that workforce is female. To encourage equal gender opportunity, we provide on-site childcare to support working mothers. Portola Land Company also supports local institutions by assisting with unmet construction needs, for example repairing roofs for local schools.
Honoring our pristine environment
We’re building homes in one of the most beautiful places on earth, and it’s our duty to honor and protect the ecology of this precious region.
We manage water runoff by replicating the water absorption of undeveloped land using water reclamation basins, and we exclusively use native and drought-tolerant plants during landscaping. Our homes are built with gentle construction techniques that reduce water and electrical usage, and we offer buyers the option of upgrading to solar panels to reduce their carbon footprint.
All about the kids
Portola Land Company focuses on supporting children because kids are the most important to us, both in our own personal lives and in the service work we do.
This includes donating to gift drives over the holidays, providing pre-schools for the children of our contracted workers, and donating our services and materials to local schools in need.
